What your customers see in the attendee portal
Your customers have their own portal where they can see every booking they've made with you, download any files you've shared, check their class credit balance, and access their receipts. Knowing what the portal looks like from the customer side helps you answer their questions and set the right expectations. This article walks through the portal from the customer's point of view.
How customers access the portal
- Customers visit your public page (or any booking confirmation link) and click My bookings in the navigation.
- They log in with the email address they used to book. No password needed — a magic link is sent to their inbox, which they click to get in instantly.
- Once inside, they see all their bookings across all Classy instructors they've ever booked with — the portal is shared, but each instructor's data is separated.
What customers can see and do
- Upcoming bookings: date, time, class name, instructor, and location. They can add any upcoming class directly to Google Calendar or Apple Calendar.
- Past bookings: a full history including what they paid, whether a refund was issued, and any digital files attached to the class.
- Class credits: current balance, how they were earned (refund, manual grant, or class cancellation), and which classes the credit can be used on.
- Files: every digital download you've attached to a class they attended — available any time, even after the class date has passed.
- If they have a seat assignment, it's shown next to the booking so they know where they're sitting before they arrive.
Adding a guest to your own booking
- From My bookings, open the upcoming class and use the Add guest option on the booking.
- Enter the guest's first name, last name, and email address (phone is optional).
- For a free class, the guest is added right away — no payment step, and a confirmation goes out immediately.
- For a paid class, submitting the form redirects to a checkout page to pay for the guest's spot. The guest isn't confirmed on the roster until that payment goes through.
Good to know about adding your own guest
- The guest's email can't match the customer's own email — that guard exists so the guest's own confirmation goes to the guest, not gets swallowed by the account holder's inbox.
- The same guest email can't be added twice to one booking.
- Guests still count against the class's capacity. If the class fills up between opening the portal and finishing checkout, the add is rejected — for a paid class, that check happens again right before the guest is confirmed, not just when the checkout link is created.
- Adding a guest is only offered on a confirmed registration — someone on the waitlist doesn't have a spot to share yet.
- However a guest is added — by the customer in the portal or by you from the Attendees tab — it lands on the same roster and counts the same way.
Common customer questions this answers
- "Where's my confirmation?" — it's in their email, and a copy is also in the portal under Upcoming bookings.
- "Do I have any class credits?" — yes, they can check their current balance in the portal at any time.
- "Can I download the recipe PDF?" — yes, any file you've attached to a class they attended is in the portal under Past bookings.
- "What's my seat number?" — shown on their upcoming booking if you've assigned seating for the class.
- "Can I bring someone with me?" — yes, if they still have a confirmed spot, they can add a guest themselves from the portal instead of asking you to do it.
- Directing customers to the portal for these questions saves you from answering the same emails repeatedly.
